Elderly residents at a Yew Tree Care Centre in Redcar have been rolling up their sleeves and getting messy in a bespoke arts and crafts session designed to ease the effects of dementia.

RESIDENT CELEBRATES 106TH BIRTHDAY
Mabel Young of Briardene celebrated her 106th birthday recently surrounded by friendsand family. Born in 1906, Mabel was the youngest of 12 children to John and MargaretUsher. She was raised in Eshott, Northumberland where her Father worked as Gamekeeperat Eshott Hall for the Bainbridge family. Emerson Bainbridge was well known for being thefounder of the world’s first department store; Bainbridge’s in Newcastle which, in 2002 became part of the John Lewis partnership.
