Couple reach 75 Year Emerald Anniversary at Holly
December 12, 2009

Residents of Holly Lodge Care Home in Shildon have a lot to celebrate with a milestone anniversary.
Bob and Olive Murton recently celebrated a milestone anniversary. It's been 75 years since the couple said ‘I do' after getting married at St Mark's Church in Eldon.
Bob, who celebrated his 100th birthday last year and Olive, 96 met at an Eldon Church Hall dance when they were teenagers and have never looked back since.
The couple have been living at Holly Lodge since September 2009. They enjoyed a special party at the home with guest Councillor Gareth Howe, Mayor of Shildon (pictured right with the happy couple.)
They enjoy varying hobbies such as walking, and bowls and also love travelling around the country by train, regularly visiting their daughter Jenifer in Lancashire. The couple said, "the secret to our happy life is that we pull together and don't argue, it is very much a relationship of give and take."
Here's to you both. An inspiration to us all!
